Proper execution
A properly performed building thermographic analysis always includes thermography of both the inside and outside of the building. A variety of disturbance factors should be taken into account: weather conditions, wind speed, reflections of low sky temperatures on reflective surfaces, trees, shrubs, residual solar heat.
Thermography is preferably done before sunrise and at an indoor/outdoor temperature difference of at least 10°C.
Applications
- Detection of energy-hungry thermal bridges.
- Finding missing or poorly placed insulation.
- Locating air leaks.
- Detection of water infiltration in walls, floors and roofs.
- Detection of construction defects.
- Detection of moisture and mould in a building due to excessive thermal bridges or excessive humidity caused by insufficient ventilation or heating.
- Checking the proper functioning of electrical cabinets.
